KB000002 - Firewall Ports Used by EtaPRO 10

Overview

Communication between the EtaPRO Client and Server is achieved using .NET Remoting through a single port. The default is 5575 and this can be easily changed through the configuration settings in the EtaPRO Service Manager. In general, the following ports are used by EtaPRO 10.x and supporting tools:

EtaPRO Client-Server/EPReporter/EtaPRO Web Client

What   Protocol Direction Range
SMTP - Open if using EPReporter to send mail from the server Recommended TCP Outgoing 25
HTTP - Required for use by EtaPRO Web Client Optional TCP Incoming 80
HTTPS - Required for use by EtaPRO Web Client Optional TCP Incoming 443
Remote Desktop - Open if RDP will be used for remote maintenance Required TCP Incoming/Outgoing 3389
PI Communications Port* Required TCP Incoming/Outgoing 5450
Required for EtaPRO Client-Server communications Required TCP Incoming/Outgoing 5575

* If a firewall exists between the PI Server hardware and the EtaPRO server hardware, a PI Trust definition  for the firewall will be required to allow data flow to the EtaPRO Server.

OPSCenter

If the OPSCenter feature is implemented using a shared folder on the EtaPRO server hardware, then the appropriate file share ports will need to be opened.
NOTE  OPSCenter can point to any shared folder on the network – it does not have to reside on the EtaPRO server hardware.
