KB100017 - Manual Activation of EtaPRO

Problem

The EtaPRO server hardware can not connect to the Internet to activate the EtaPRO Server software when new features are licensed using the Product Key supplied by GP Strategies. Contact EtaPRO Support at etaprosupport@gpstrategies.com or 716-799-1077, if you do not have a new Product key before starting this procedure. This procedure applies to EtaPRO 10.2,10.3, and 10.4. These windows will appear differently based upon which version of EtaPRO is being used, examples in this procedure will indicate in which version of EtaPRO the windows appear ordered from oldest to newest.

Solution

  1. Click the EtaPRO Service Manager icon in the Start | All Programs | EtaPRO 10 menu on the EtaPRO server hardware. The EtaPRO Service Manager dialog displays.

EtaPRO 10.3 and Older

EtaPRO 10.4 and Newer

  1. If Services are running, click the Stop All Services button. When all the services have stopped, click the Configuration Settings button to display the Configuration Settings dialog.
  2. Click Registration tab.

EtaPRO 10.3 and Older

EtaPRO 10.4 and Newer (To see features, click the Show Features button)

  1. Enter the new Product Key and then click Activate. A warning message displays because no internet connection exists.

  1. Click OK to display the Manual Activation feature. Click the To File button (Green arrow to Floppy Disk Icon in EtaPRO 10.4 and newer) next to the Manual Registration Identifier to  copy the number to a *.txt file saved to an external device so the file can opened on a computer with Internet access.

  1. Open the *.txt file on the computer with internet access.

  1. Open the EtaPRO Unlock website (http://support.etapro.com/manuallicense) in your internet browser. Click the button that corresponds to your EtaPRO version.

  1. Enter the Product Key, Manual Registration Identifier, your Email Address, and then click Submit.

  1. The Manual Activation Identifier will be sent to your email address. If you do not receive the email or encounter difficulties during activation, please contact EtaPRO Support at etaprosupport@gpstrategies.com or 716-799-1077. Include your Product Key and the file with the Manual Registration Identifier.
  2. Copy the Manual Activation Identifier to the *.txt file on the external device so that it can be opened on the EtaPRO server hardware.

  1. Enter the Manual Activation Identifier into the Activation Identifier field.

EtaPRO 10.3 and Older

  1. Click the Activate button. The License validation successful! message should display.

  1. Click OK to close the Configuration Settings dialog and redisplay the EtaPRO Service Manager dialog.
    IMPORTANT!  Restart all services before closing the EtaPRO Service Manager.
