McAfee Uninstall Causes Script Error in EtaPRO

Problem

Some users have reported the following errors after uninstalling McAfee Anti-Virus software from the EtaPRO server computer:

  • EtaPRO User-defined formulas incorrectly show a result of zero (0).
  • Unhandled exception error dialog box is displayed when clicking Test Output button on a Data Point Configuration form.

Solution

The McAfee program overwrites the ImprocServer32 (default) registry key data. Correct key values are subsequently not restored following the uninstall of McAfee programs.

Users must run the McAfee Consumer Products Removal tool and reboot the computer.

  1. Follow instructions from http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?id=TS101331 to uninstall McAfee products.
  2. Download the McAfee Consumer Products Removal tool from http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe.
  3. Follow instructions from to run the Consumer Products Removal tool.
  4. When prompted, reboot the server.
  5. Upon restart, test the EtaPRO user-defined formulas and the Test Output button functionality.
